Apparently you are not supposed to contact them in the first 6months.

Many thanks.
i did contact them last week friday eve, they replied tuesday afternoon, and this was the reply:

Thank you for your email.

As stated on the auto-response, the Nationality Progress mailbox is only able to provide progress updates once an application has been with us for more than 6 months.

Your application was received on 22/03/2013, so this application is still with in our 6 month service standard - for this reason I am unable to provide a progress update at this time.

We aim to process 95% of applications within 6 months, although this does not guarantee that this case will be processed within 6 months – some applications do take longer. There is no maximum processing time, we will take as long as we need to ensure the decision we make is correct.

When the decision is made, or if we require further information from you, we will contact you in writing, for this reason please make sure you notify us promptly if you change your address. Your address can be updated here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... y-details/

If you require any documents back, these can be requested here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... documents/. Requesting documents will not negatively impact on the application.

Yours Sincerely,

Thank you for your swift reply. It will not help much if I email them as most probably I will get the same response, except the date when the application was received which I know as I track it.

I am trying to understand why certain cases are resolved within 3weeks or less and some of them take a lot longer. I have noticed that the majority of them are sorted in under 25days.
My friend sent his on 22nd March 13 and had it approved 11th April 13.

My husband sent his on the 27th of March and the money was taken on the 11th April - yet no reply!!

Does it depend on the applicants previous status? They fast track specific types of applicants?

I can understand how frustrating it is to look out for that brown envelope every time when postman drops posts and not to find it... but have patience I'm sure it should be ok. You can try mailing them asking for any updates but it's unlikely they will provide before the elapse of 6 months.

Its unfortunate, some of the people's application even if its staright forward gets stuck for no reason and others which is more complex gets approved relatively quicker ... i guess it's sort of black hole and we'd never able to guess or imagine the process that goes behind the scenes.

I'm sure you'll hear the good news very soon. :)

Don't you worry, I applied on 11th of February and got the approval letter 4 days ago on the 6th of june!!took 4 months. my advice would be to forget about it and get on with your life, it will definitely come one day soon.some caseworker are slower than others as well as the fact that in some applications take more time for the equerries to be done.that is all the story.so think positive, you will soon get your approvals.
Good luck to all of you.

Hi All,

My husband got his letter on Saturday the 22nd of June. He also got his invitation to the ceremony for Wednesday 26th of June - both letters came in the same post.

His letter was dated the 12th of June so took 10 days to get to us!

We initially applied on the 25th of March so it has taken about 3 months. I wish everyone the best, hope you all receive the good news soon!
