Why work registration still required for EEA2 application?

Post by yogsmith » Thu Mar 07, 2013 9:55 am

"Additional requirement for nationals of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia or Slovenia:
Evidence that you have completed 12 months on the Worker Registration Scheme".

Source. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... cklist.pdf

My Q.: Since work registration scheme was abolished in March 2011 for above mentioned nationals then why there this requirement still mentioned on check-list?

That checklist does not only cover EEA2 applicants but EEA 4 or EEA3 applicants.

As it has not been 5years since the WRS requirements were removed, it will be reasonable to expect EEA 3 or 4 applicant to show they or their sponsors complied with the WRS requirements.

What I understands from your above mentioned reply that EEA2 applicants are not required to show that their partner/wife/husband has completed 12 months on WRS since it has been abolished in 2011. Isn't it?

Yes that is correct. Although the discussion was on the valudity of thr EEA checklist.

An new application for EEA 2 or EEA 1 , dont require WRS card.

This is in no way contradictory to the EEA check list.
