Struggling to find referees

Post by imranb » Thu Mar 07, 2013 2:56 pm

Hello All.

I am sort of struggling to find referees for my citizenship application, and would appreciate if someone can advice and help me interpret what the below listed professions from the ‘List of Acceptable Professional Persons’ document that sits on the UKBA site:

1) Director of a VAT Registered Company: Could this be someone like a freelance IT contractor who have their own one person VAT Registration Company in which they are registered as ‘Director’?

2) Engineer (with professional qualifications): Could this be a qualified BE Engineer from India? Obviously BE from certain listed universities in India is deemed as acceptable qualification in UK, isn’t it?

3) Personal Licensee Holders: What does this mean?

4) Teacher, lecturer: Would a part time teacher be acceptable?

Any suggestions on how you have selected your referees and how stringent it is to stick to the exact list of acceptable professions would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks for reading,
Imran
