Tourist Visa for France on ILR

Post by priyadri » Sun Mar 10, 2013 7:50 pm

HI All,

I have recently got my ILR and I am planning to visit France. So, I wanted to know if I apply for a Tourist Visa how long it will be for.

I have got Visa for about 6 months from French embassy before so I assume with iLR the duration should be more like 2 years or so.

Regards,
Priyadri

I wouldn't assume anything, while your theory appears sound, it does not appear to work that way in practice.

It entirely depends on the discretion of the consular officer approving the visa application. There is no rule and no one in this forum can provide a confirmation.
However, French embassy is known for generous longer duration visa approvals so be cautiously optimistic. I would expect atleast a year long visa assuming medical insurance and other paper works are in order.
