Want to visit UK with German resident card

Hi guys,

Just quick question my friend wants to visit us in the UK and her husband is German and she is holding German resident card. They are coming together as a couple so does she still need a visa?
They are going stay around a week and go back.

If your friend's wife is a visa national, she will need a visa. She could apply for a family permit, which is issued free of charge.

You don't mention her Nationality, Lets say she is Chinese.

She needs a UK visa to fly the the UK, even her husband is an EU citizen, and will accompany her.
The UK issue instructions to the airlines which openly violate the principle of EU free movement for EU citizens and their family when it comes to flying.

Yet, if you make it to the UK Border, with your EU spouse, they must by UK law, allow you enter without a visa, or issue the visa at the border.
Its a trick , the UK obey Citizens rights in the Law in writing, but issue instructions to third parties, namely to a company called Timatic which in turn, instructs the airlines to deny the right in reality.

We don't know because OP has not posted the nationality. The current position of the UK would be not to accept other EU countries' article 10 residence cards.

Her husband is German and she holds a German residence card. Therefore the residence card can't be under 2004/38/EC unless the husband exercised free movement in the past (unlikely, but possible). So she definitely needs a visa, if not visa-free national of course.

Well spotted. In the event that it's a document issued to a German national's family member who'd never exercised treaty rights, then it would be called a permit. We don't know, the OP has not given enough information. If they post back, we might find out.
