visit visa duration of stay

Post by goodwill » Thu Mar 21, 2013 12:45 pm

hi to all

my parents are in uk on family visitor visa.visa issue date is 03/01/2013 and expiry date is 03/07/2013.total duration of stay is 180 days.their arrival date is 19/01/2013.

now my question is should they return back before the visa expiry date which is 03/07/2013 or should they complete 180 days starting from date of arrival in the uk from 19/01/2013.

my dad asked the immigration officer about it and he said its start from today but we all are still very confused about it.

please answer briefly.

thank you

They should leave the UK on or before the date of expiry - 3 July 2013 - as if they leave after, they will not have valid visa in to be in the UK.
