Dependent visa for mother

Post by nehakhands123 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 4:14 pm

Hi,

I would be moving to London on Intra company transfer visa sponsored by my employer. I have 3 dependents which includes my wife, son and my mother. My mother is above 60 years old and is dependent on me as my father is no more. Can you please tell me
1. What are chances of getting a dependent visa for my mother?
2. If I cant get a dependent visa for her, what are the other possible options for her visa so that she can stay with me as long as possible?

Help would be appreicated.

Regards

1. Zero (no chance).
2. She can visit for six month per year if her circumstances qualify for a visit visa.

Hi,

If the dependent visa for old age and single mother cannot be approved, then what are the scenarios in which the visa gets approved for parents? What exactly the government looks for when the dependent visa for parents is applied?

You can apply to join a settled person in the UK if:

You need long-term personal care to perform every day tasks, such as washing and cooking. The care you need is not available in the country where you are living, either because it is not available and there is no person in the country where you are living who can reasonably provide it or it is not affordable.
Your sponsor can show that he or she is able to provide adequate maintenance, accommodation and care for you without having to rely on public funds. Your sponsor will need to sign a sponsorship undertaking form to confirm that they will be responsible for your care without relying on public funds for a period of at least 5 years.
In light of this, if your were settled in the UK, and your mother was not capable of performing simply daily tasks, you could easily hire a person to do those things for her rather than have her move to the UK.
