My friend, you need to book your wedding first with registrar after that get married and applied for EEA2 RC which will take approximately 6 months (could be less or more depending on your case) along with all the relevant documents (for that please go through the post here in forum and get details about it). hope this helps.sankhara wrote:I am an Israeli citizen living in the UK for the past 6.5 years.
I studied for a Bachelors for 3 years, then had a post-graduate visa for 2 years, and now studying for my masters (about to finish).
I would like to marry my girlfriend, who is a German citizen.
If we marry now in the UK, how easy it is for me to apply for an EU family permit?
No, you dont need to apply for family permit as you are already in country. You need to apply for EEA2 Residence card.sankhara wrote:I see.
So I dont need to apply for an EU family permit, since I already have a student visa?
Can I still work while I am waiting for an RC?
Yes on completion of 10 years you can apply ILR but your EEA partner must have been excercising its treaty rights for the duration (3 years) you will spend with EEA2 RC.sankhara wrote:thanks for all your help!
Another question. As I have already been in the UK for almost 7 years, will I be able to apply for ILR after 10 years are over?
