Holding a Tier 5 YMS and Tier 2 work permit

I currently have a Tier 5 YMS work permit but the company I received an offer from would prefer me to switch to a Tier 2. Considering that I am currently not in the UK I am able to apply for a Tier 2 work permit.

Is it be possible for me to hold on to my Tier 5 YMS and apply for a Tier 2? Hence, is it possible to have both work permits and enter the UK on the Tier 2?

I would like to hold on to the flexibility the Tier 5 YMS work permit offers me.

If you are granted Tier 2 it will cancel the Tier 5.
