Naturalisation for family - single application or various?

Post by gsumanth » Fri Apr 12, 2013 3:26 pm

Hi Members,

Current status of our family is as below:
Self: On ILR from Nov 2012
Wife: On ILR from Nov 2012
Child 1: On ILR from Nov 2012, born in the UK
Child 2: Expected in May 2013 in India

I will be eligible for Naturalisation in Nov 2013.
Wife has been in India for delivery of second child since Dec 2012, expected May 13.
First child has also been in India since Dec 2012.

I believe my first child and I could apply for naturalisation in Nov 2013, but my wife would not meet residential requirements and will have to wait for about an year to satisfy this. If I apply in Nov 2013, how will it impact naturalisation requirements of my wife and second child.

Please let me know your views if it will be better to wait for more time and apply for naturalisation for the family together or apply in batches as and when individuals become eligible?

Thanks,
Sumanth
