Earliest date for applying for ILR

Post by shafikhan » Tue Apr 16, 2013 12:18 pm

Hi,

Could anyone please help me with this question.

Applicant entered UK on 22/11/2011 on 2 years spouse visa.
What is the earliest date applicant can apply for ILR? We are trying to work out the exact date to avoid new englis test requirement effective from the 28 october 2013.

Is it the date they receive the documents or date documents posted at the post office.

Thanks for your help.

It seems your date would be Friday, October 25, 2013. You can use http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html to verify. Just add 2 years to entry date then subtract 28 from the result. Not sure what date they would use, but if i was to guess, I'd say it would be when they received it. If you can afford the few extra pounds, why not make a PEO appointment to be sure?

If you are interested in getting naturalisation at some stage, the new KoLL requirement will still apply so there is no avoiding it entirely. Probably better to just get it done and dusted.
