This is mainly aimed at Tourists who are abusing the NHS System. They may bring a rule to say that you should have lived in the UK for 12 months, before youare entitled for NHS Treatment. Firstly they want GP surgeries to check Patient registration and Health authorities to do checks before issuing NHS Numbers,to registered Patients.mark2002 wrote:Hi
Will this effect people who have indefinite leave to remain stamped in their passport.

THOUSANDS of foreigners will be banned from getting full NHS care in a health tourism crackdown, The Sun can reveal.
A plan being drawn up by Jeremy Hunt would only allow people entitled to live in the UK to get full NHS numbers.
Foreigners who are not British residents would instead get temporary numbers that only allow access to emergency care.
The sun is beginning to be reminiscent of the mail.mark2002 wrote:Hi

In that case, those thousands of foreigners should only pay a tiny percentage of their National a insurance.mark2002 wrote:Hi

Also, people with ILR are regarded as British residents
Nah I think that includes people with ILR too. Otherwise they would have said British nationals.D4109125 wrote:Permanent residents rather than British residents, as that would generally be someone who is a British Citizen i.e. naturalised.[iD] wrote:In that case, those thousands of foreigners should only pay a tiny percentage of their National a insurance.mark2002 wrote:Hi

The sun may regard those people are British residents but in general those with ILR are permanent residents. For the purpose of nhs funding the term is generally ordinary resident which encompasses many people. The sun is akin to the mail for its scaremongering.[iD] wrote:Nah I think that includes people with ILR too.
