Question about going on a break after submitting

Post by no55 » Wed May 08, 2013 5:51 pm

Hi,

I am a UK resident and worker (EU) for a decade now and my application in general is (I believe) in good standing. However, I have an issue which troubles me and I was wondering if anyone would know the answer:

I might need to take a long break shortly after I submit my application for naturalisation (in about a month after I submit). This break will involve me quitting or taking a sabbatical from my job and going back to my home country (within the EU) for a few months.

I do intend to keep ties to my current UK address (through sub-letting, or just asking my flatmates to keep my post), and do intend to eventually come back to the same or different address. Is there any way my naturalisation application might get affected? Will they see that I am outside of the country and start enquiring?

Mind you that all of that might happen after I have submitted my application - but by the time they start looking into it, I might be gone.

Cheers!

You'll be fine just remember to get back for your ceremony.
