To complete a resident labour market test for any other job in the Tier 2 (General) category, you must use the advertising methods permitted by the code of practice for the sector or job.

The advertisement must include:
1- the job title;
2- the main duties and responsibilities of the job (the job description);
3- the location of the job;
4- an indication of the salary package or salary range or terms on offer;
5- the skills, qualifications and experience needed; and
6- the closing date for applications, unless the job is part of a rolling recruitment programme (in which case the advertisement should state the period of the recruitment programme).

All jobs advertised to settled workers must be advertised using 2 of the permitted media. In many cases this will be:

A- mandatory advertising online through the Jobcentre Plus Universal Job match service (for jobs based in England, Wales and Scotland) or through Job centre Online for jobs based in Northern Ireland; and
B- one other permitted method such as national newspaper or professional journal, rolling recruitment programmes, recruitment agencies and headhunters, Internet, etc.

I remember in the old code of practice, reed.co.uk was one of the favourite websites to advert beside other websites.

Internet

You can advertise the job online. We do not restrict you to specific websites but whichever one you choose, it must be:

1- the relevant government website hosting jobs advertised through the Jobcentre Plus Universal Jobmatch service, or Jobcentre online in Northern Ireland (in some cases this will be mandatory); or
2- an online version of a national newspaper that would meet the requirements; or
3- an online version of a professional journal that would meet the requirements; or
4- the website of a prominent or professional recruitment organisation.

jobisjob.co.uk seems to satisfy number 4. However to be in the safe side I would suggest going to a solicitor who is specialist in Tier 2 General. As I mentioned, the old codes of practice document suggested a number of websites to advert, but in the new version non were mentioned.

Hello,
I have the same question as well.
My employer posted the job for LMIT in Universal Job Match and Reed.co.uk.
Assume it's accepted although both media are online?
Please advise.
Thank you
