VAF9 - have you ever been refused visa to any country ?

Post by praveenGPK » Sun May 12, 2013 6:24 pm

Hi

I have applied for US business visa an year ago and got refused citing the reason that I am ineligible to apply for this type of visa and also do not demonstrate strong reasons to come back to my home country after expiry of US visa. But there is no stamp/sticker of rejection. The visa officer handed over a paper to me citing the reason. And in the paper given there is no where mentioned as refusal/rejection. It only says I am ineligible.

My question is, I am now going to apply for UK visa under Tier 2 type. For the question If I am refused/rejected visa to any country should my answer be Yes or No. Actually I have already sent the online application with answer 'No' as there is no stamp in my passport. I realized it today. Is it correct. If not, is there a way to change it or let the visa officer know about the mistake I made. Pls provide me your valuable suggestion.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Pabbi.

Dear muhdkhokhar,
Do you mean it is not needed to discuss anything or do I have to mention it to the Visa officer about the situation?

thank you for your reply.

The fact that there is no stamp in your passport is not evidence that the refusal has not been recorded. It is almost certain that it has and will be available to the ECO when considering your application.

If I were you I would write a letter to the ECO as soon as possible (before a decision is made on your application) explaining the situation

Thank you in advance.
