It's not possible to make an ILR application outside the UK. Do you still have a valid residence permit for the UK?

If you manage to get visa and reach back to UK within 6 months since you left then you can apply it. You cannot include dependant in long residence application.

Since you have already completed the required 10 years in the UK in the past from June 2002 to 2012 (assuming continuous and you meet the requirements for time spent outside the UK, gaps between applications, etc. during this period), you can come back to the UK anytime you want through any route (for e.g. Tier 4 Student) which allows you to switch in the UK and make an application using form SET(LR) as soon as you reach the UK.

It doesn't matter even if you have been outside the UK for more than 180 days now since Dec 2012 because the 10 year period that they would be taking into consideration for your ILR application is from June 2002 to 2012.

Please see page 11 last paragraph of the long residence guidance below for confirmation:

Hope this helps.

To my limited information, you can not apply as you have left the UK and there is a break in your residency. If you get a new visa that wont be part of the chain due the break.

But I am not 100 percent sure about this.

All the best and keep us dated if you choose to apply for ILR.

If you have already lived in the UK for 10 years legally and continuously then it does not matter about absences after this time. If you come to the UK with leave to enter you can then make your set(lr) application.

You can't (technically) come to the UK on a visit visa if you intend to settle. :?

You should have applied ILR in the first place when you were here in the UK as its the most important thing which any migrant should do asap when they are about to complete their required time period for ILR anyways you didn't apply for ILR for some reason.

There must be some reason as why you didn't apply for ILR?and now you want to come back to the UK just to apply for ILR which doesn't make sense as why you left without applying?

Even if he applies for a tier 4 visa then he would be clearly deceiving the entry clearence officer as his intention is absolutely NOT to study in the UK but to ONLY gain entry so that he can apply ILR.

To be honest really don't know what he has been doing in the last 10 years he stayed in the country, if he would have been a Genuine student then obviously it doesn't take you 10 odd years to complete a degree even if you are studying medicine or architecture etc. unless you have been paying money to bogus colleges and kept getting your stay extended just to complete 10 years to be eligible for the ILR which is again a fraud and dishonesty to what he has been showing to the homeoffice every time he applied for the extension.

If you do not have enough funds to study then please do not come to the UK as you will be purely wasting your time, ruining your future and precious time which you could use in some thing worthwhile in your own country in business or education.

Yeah yeah don't worry we all believe you and keep trying to pull wool on our eyes

Please stop hiding things and come out clean so that someone here could give you some useful advice as still you haven't said as to why you didn't apply ILR when you were here
