ILR from FLR (umanrried partner)

Post by Kaygirl » Fri May 17, 2013 6:05 pm

Hi

I was reading the application guide for SET(M) and noticed a paragraph saying non EEA nationals who are parners of EEA nationals excercising treaty rights MUST NOT use the form.

I am a non EEA national with FLR (unmarried partner), My partner is Swedish and has been residing in the UK since 2001.

My question is does the above guidance apply to my case?

Thanks

If you have got FLR M visa right now you need to apply for SET M visa for ILR.

Thanks Emrah

That's what I thought as well and I have booked for poa application next month. I had a doubt when I was reading the guidance and saw that paragraph. I was advised to apply through the UK immigration when I was applying for the FLR as my partner had automatically obtained a "settled status" in the UK.

he is considering applying for British citizenship as well so to make my application straight forward. Is this necessary?

no it is not necessary as long as your partner is settled in the UK.
