its been 1 week but no reply, is there any other email id to enquiry?

Same situation here. Applied in October and no news so far! I sent an email to the same one as you did last week, but no response, yet. You may try the following ones as well, but I have not tried them myself:

I applied for naturalisation on August 23 via NCS. As the six months waiting period was fast approaching, I decided to email them last week (Jan 30) to ask for an update. They replied the same day with a generic email saying that applications are dealt with in receipt date order so it will take longer for it to be considered (which we know is not the case as some applications get processed extremely fast).
Then, today I received a letter dated Feb 4 (please note that Feb 4 is a Sunday...which is strange) saying that even though they aim to process applications within six months, they will need more time because my case raises complex issues. They say they will try make a decision as soon as possible but they will write again if they can't.

Has anyone else experienced this? I always thought I had a very straightforward case (that was what NCS told me too). Plus, they never got in touch with me to ask for my documents or ask any questions. I know there is not much I can do but I am just really confused now and would value any advice.

I see.. It would have just been helpful to know the reason behind it and how long we are expected to wait further. I wonder how many cases are in the same boat and if others eventually got an answer after receiving this letter, how long would it have taken.

So the 1 year has to be after being free of any stay restrictions, e.g. being on visa etc., so regardless of how long you've been legally staying, you have to have spent at least a year without any stay restriction. This is based on what I know. Others can correct me if I am wrong!

I would likt add something too.
If you’re married to, or the civil partner of, a British citizen, you can apply for citizenship as soon as you recieve you ILR.I mean no need to wait 12 month after ILR If you are married to British citizen.That is how i apply after almost 2 months of my ILR.

My wife got approval letter but never got the original documents back.
Now I got the original documents back but without any decision.

Hi all,

Just a quick question. My professional referee (who is British) has now started a job in an EU country so he does not now live in the UK. This change happened a month and half after I submitted my application (November). My application is still under consideration so do I have to inform them about this change in the address of one of my referees?

Don't think anyone can say for sure.
But if that helps, they never contacted the referees for my wife and daughter (separate applications).
From what I have seen, they would ask you for new referee if they have issue with any of them.

Can't be sure of course, but I doubt that they will reject you becase one of the referees didn't respond (or moved abroad for weeks/months).

Yes, agreed. Sounds very strange especially that those are not originals and in some sense you do not really need them as the copies were made by the NCS and not you!

I applied in August through Tier 2 / ILR route and still waiting... I emailed them to ask for an update, and once received a generic email reply the second time I emailed, I recieved two different letters in post both generic but suggesting it is in the 'good character' checks phase and they are waiting for external agencies, etc. So much anxiety!

Breach of Law:::: please need your advise

I applied in april 2009 for tier 1, they reject bcz payment was not gone through. I sent back docs with in 28 days with new details. There was no leave to remain when i send it again. They refused again in 25th june bcz of maintenance funds. They did give me right of appeal bcs i have not got leave to remain when i sent docs with correct information. I request them to recondiser but ho stands on their decision. I applied in the court for right of appeal and eventually won the appeal. They gave me visa tier 1 from jan15 2010. What do you think about my stay from 30 april 2009 to 15 jan 2010. Is it breach of law?

HI all,

Does the 6 month starts from the date the HO received the application or the date on the letter from HO confirming that they have received the application. I applied on the 17th of August 2017 and received a letter dated 24/08/17. I am an EU national, PR + 5 years

As I am approaching the 6 month mark, I am getting nervous. I sent the residency card I received when I applied for PR as proof of PR. However, I read somewhere that there seems to be 2 type of cards and that sending the wrong one would mean that the application will fail. Can anyone shed some light please?
