Usually the home office knows that was long time ago and many documents got missed basically they want you to give them evidence that you didn't work at this period and the only way to prove it you have to show strong evidence that somebody was helping you financially or you were self sufficient stronger evidence you the more convincing you areBirmingham06 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 8:46 pmhi Smallpie, the questionnaire is about the time my leave expired and the time i was granted settlement. yes it was 8 questions. i did not get back my file from Home office, i visited last week the office of my previous solicitors, but infortunatelly they were closed down in 2017 by law regulations.

I hold a EEA Permanent Residence Card granted in 2014. I am a former EEA national family member. I applied for my naturalisation in February this year and received a letter today asking to provide a proof of Qualification in English. I am very confused as I have passed and provided my Life in the UK test certificate, can anyone advise if I also must have a qualification in English on top of it? Thank you.

I pray that I hear a good news.Bathroom11 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 10, 2018 6:35 amUsually the home office knows that was long time ago and many documents got missed basically they want you to give them evidence that you didn't work at this period and the only way to prove it you have to show strong evidence that somebody was helping you financially or you were self sufficient stronger evidence you the more convincing you areBirmingham06 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 8:46 pmhi Smallpie, the questionnaire is about the time my leave expired and the time i was granted settlement. yes it was 8 questions. i did not get back my file from Home office, i visited last week the office of my previous solicitors, but infortunatelly they were closed down in 2017 by law regulations.
Good luck hopefully you hear good news soon
I think you have to wait until home office notifies the council at the same time you will wait for invitation so last Friday i phoned my local council and they said they haven't got anything from the home office yet about me they told me it should take one week if I haven't received any invitation from the home office then I have to contact the home office to see what's going on

Question number 2: where did you live and whit who during this time?
my reply: i lived in ........... with my 2 kids and my ex husband. i remembered at that time i was living with my kids as my ex husband left due to domestic abuse.
Question 3: how did you support yourself..( rent, bills, ...)
my reply was: my ex husband was paying the rent and when he left i was being supported by red cross. i was emotionally supported by women's aid due to domestic abuse
It should be i was being supported by red cress and Birmingham women's aid .
with my 2nd address i did find prove i was being supported by my partner who was just being granted asylum.
THANKS

I can't find any correspondence or receipt to say that my ex was supporting me. I told them red cross was supporting me but because it has been so long my file at red cross has been archived. I've read somewhere that the case worker can use discretion to grant if one was a victim of domestic violence, is this true? Can this apply to
my case? I received a support letter from women's aid confirming I was a victim of domestic violence and they were supporting me.
Thank you for your support. I will surely update you.
I pray I have good news soon.
@smallpie. Thank you very much for your support. I will update you as soon as I have a reply. Finger crossed its comes positive.smallpie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 11:18 pmBirmingham06 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 11, 2018 11:09 pm@smallpie. Thanks for your good wishes.

Mine came within 10-12days from getting first approval letter.Bathroom11 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 12, 2018 6:49 pmI am just wondering how long it takes to receive the invitation letter for the ceremony after you receive the approval letter any idea? It looks like the home office are not using 2nd class royal mail it like they are using turtle mail service i hope to touch my invitation letter in my life time I haven't applied for afterlife citizenship
I phoned my local council last Friday they checked with my name they said we have nothing here for you and they said wait one week if you didn't get anything contact the home office so I think I should be patient for the end of this weeksmallpie wrote: ↑Mon Mar 12, 2018 7:07 pmMine came within 10-12days from getting first approval letter.Bathroom11 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 12, 2018 6:49 pmI am just wondering how long it takes to receive the invitation letter for the ceremony after you receive the approval letter any idea? It came as one letter with double informations on it ( official approval letter and ceremony invitation, with details of my local council and contact number on it.)
With that you can book your ceremony, and quote your poll number from the letter.
In some cases here on forum, some pple managed to book ceremony without the invitation letter, depends on your council. You can try your luck.
My experience that it depends. I have received my approval on Saturday. Called my local council on Monday morning and they arranged a ceremony this week for me which means they have my papers. On the approval letter from the home office it says that it may take up to 2 days for the local council to receive the paperwork but in my case it seems they already have the paper work...Bathroom11 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 12, 2018 7:41 pmI phoned my local council last Friday they checked with my name they said we have nothing here for you and they said wait one week if you didn't get anything contact the home office so I think I should be patient for the end of this weeksmallpie wrote: ↑Mon Mar 12, 2018 7:07 pmMine came within 10-12days from getting first approval letter.Bathroom11 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 12, 2018 6:49 pmI am just wondering how long it takes to receive the invitation letter for the ceremony after you receive the approval letter any idea?
