Hi guys,

i need an advice regarding naturalisation ...

the issue date on my ILR is 10-08-2017 You mean PR card?... but the letter which i receive with my documents states " Based on the information you provided with your application, the date on which you are deemed to have acquired permanent residence in UK is 08-03-2017’ ...

so does it mean i do not have to wait 12 months to apply for British citizenship ??? NO can apply now anytime after 08-03-2018 ??? YES

does anybody had or having the same situation ???

any advice would be really helpful ...

thank you guys !!! :)

Issue date is when card was issued ! Letter states date when PR acquired.

so the 12 months law for citizenship starts from the date on the letter ... not from the date of issue ???

I refer you to the guide for applicants which you have probably studied:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... feb-18.pdf

Quote from page 9 (note underlined words):
If you are a national of a country which is a member state of the EEA or Switzerland, or the
family member of such a person, you will automatically have permanent residence status
after exercising EEA free movement rights in the UK for any continuous period of 5 years
ending on or after 30 April 2006. You should apply for a permanent residence card to
prove that you hold that status before applying for citizenship.
But remember that, unless you are married to or the civil partner of a British citizen, you
should normally have held permanent resident status for 12 months before applying for
naturalisation.
This means that you may need to wait until you have been in the UK for 6
years before you can apply. When you apply for a permanent residence document the
evidence that you supply for your EEA(PR) application must be for a 5-year period that
ended at least a year before you want to apply for citizenship.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Sorry I forgot you confused me now so basically this gap 5 months you told me about according to my case yes they will consider it illegal but if this gap 5 months was more than 10 years ago then they will not care about it and they won't give you this questionnaire but if this 5 months was in last 10 years they will question you according to good character thing because they look at your application date then go back 10 years from that date and they will check if you have anything on you

If your spouse has completed 5y as your depedent o PBS to ILR, so she doesnt have to wait for a 1y after that to apply for naturalisation.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

No need to wait 12 months if married to a British citizen, regardless of the route taken to ILR (not specific to PBS dependents).

You should also start your own topic with questions about your spouse's application rather than tagging onto the general discussion thread where your questions are likely to get lost and missed.

Eligibility criteria: 10 Years Plus 1 Year ILR
Language Criteria: Master's Degree + Life in the Uk
Nationality : Pakistani
Method of application: NCS + JCAP
Date of application: 8-03-2018

Its been 1 Week and they didn't took the Application fee from my bank account.

Can someone tell how long they will take to deduct the money and send the acknowledgement letter via email or Post?

There is no need to spam the forum with duplicate posts asking the same thing.

It can take a couple of weeks for the payment to be processed.

So I got annoyed with HO because all January AN applications except ours seem to be approved (including some February ones) and I emailed them this morning at NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk to ask them to confirm that the application is in order and that they don't need extra information from us. I got this brief reply below. Does it mean that a decision has been made?

That's great - means that you'll have a decision soon. :) What was the exact text you wrote to them in email please (if you don't mind me asking). They never ever reply to any email I send!!! :(

Thanks. This is what I wrote, and added our names, dates of birth, and case numbers:

Hello there,

can you please confirm that our applications are being processed and there is no outstanding documentation or information that we need to provide?

Thank you.

Good morning guys I have an advice for everyone who is still waiting for the decision I dunno but somehow I believe in these things I know the process of neutralization is really painful and dealing with home office itself is the worst nightmare I am very impatient person I hate waiting , I have been waiting for 4 months and 6 days every single day I follow up with other applicant timeline and feel even worse and worse and obviously we all applying for neutralization to get the passport at the end and imagining life how bright will be and then I look to the reality and I am still stuck with home office and then feel horrible again and soon on and one day I thought about it you know what I don't need that I am happy with my self I am better than other people who wish to be in my place who wish just to have permission to work and live in Uk so I thought about and I am happy with my own identity and recent nationality and more than this I am permanent resident in Uk more than this I already applied for neutralization so it has to end somehow later or sooner doesn't matter when but it will end so being in that miserable feelings won't help so let me live my life normally and home office will let me know when they reach to a decision so now let me plan my life normally this application won't spoil my life believe I forgot about and stopped looking at other applicants timeline after nearly 10 days exactly and I already forgot about my application I got reply from the home office about my application and now it's done I believe in one thing if you want a things very badly and thinking about it it won't come soon when you ignore it and forget about it , it will come to you soon , as long you believe in yourself and honestly between you and yourself know that you never done something wrong then definitely it will come with positive outcome sooner or later be strong good luck everyone

That's really good advise, thanks! Really that's the best we can do, wait and see and distract ourselves with other things. It might take time, but eventually we'll all hear back!

I agree to some extent. This great country gave us opportunity and we all should appreciate that. Also, I understand that in some cases extreme vetting is required. However, what I can't comprehend is the lack f communication between the H.O and the applicant. They should be able to update you on your application if it takes longer and also explain it to you why it might take longer than others, then you will understand and you'll wait. I have noticed some applications which took 6 months or even more because of Bio-metrics problem. So, they could have told you this 4 months ago to go and do the Bio-metrics again.

Anyway, those people who got their decisions have been lucky. I really don't know how long this would take.

Applied on 3 January via NCS/JCAP application at Wandsworth Council. Biometrics done on 13 January. It looks like so many January (and now February) applications have been decided, that's why I emailed them.

I'm sure you'll get it soon mate. To me it seems that the decision has already been made and they're going to send you the papers.

My application was end of November 2017 and still waiting, and you know what's bothering me really is discrimination by the Home Office. But what can we do just be patient and wait.

@bathroom 11. Thank you for your advice. I'm very happy for you and good luck for the future. I'm still waiting . I've sent the questionnaire now it's more than a week. Finger crossed.

@Birmingham06,
Did u track the date they receive it?

And what last date did they indicate to you on the questionnaire to be back with the caseworker?

I remember mine had a pending date. And they received it two days before the pending date.
CITIZENSHIP confirmed.
