Just quick question if anybody can help: do we expect naturalisation approval confirmation letter by post or by email?

Thanks

You have to wait for 10 years since you’ve had continuous legal right to stay. If you got our asylum in April 2014, you have to wait till at least April 2024.

Hi

Quick advice needed.

I have filled in online application form (AN) and to support Proof of living in the UK I’m assuming passport needs to be scanned and submitted.

However could you please clarify whether I need to scan all stamped pages of passport (to show entry and exit) covering last 5 years?
Question 2. Two years ago, I have renewed my passport. Do I need to submit my old passport copy as well?

Please clarify.

I recommend you scan all pages of both passports.

If not, how will UKVI know if you have omitted a relevant page?

Hello, sorry dont have any reply, dont know how to start any question.
So, i applied for my naturalization in May 2018, i was sent a good behaviour questionaire which i answered well with suporting documents. August 2018 i was refused! I applied for reconsideration which has been approved. however i have not received letter inviting me for a swearing ceremony.
My QUESTIONS ARE-
1. ANY IDEA HOW LONG SWEARING LETTER TAKES TO ARRIVE AFTER SUCCESSFUL RECONSIDERATION APPLICATION?
2. CAN I BOOK APPOINTMENT WITH THE COUNCIL PENDING LETTER OF INVITATION FOR SWEARING IN?

I have already booked to go on holiday in April, and am aware that once you have received your certificate of naturalization, you have literally 5 days to send the ILR/PR BRP Card unless you get fined a 1000 GBP by the home office. Also, if i dont get the letter soon ,it might delay in my passport application and affect travel plans. and wont get a refund if i cancel the ticket?
Any suggestions or answers will be appreciated.

When did you receive your approval letter? Your approval letter will clearly indicate whether you should receive a separate invitation letter or if you can use your approval letter (combined) to book your ceremony. In the former case it should also mention how long to allow for the letter to arrive. Usually this will be up to 3 weeks from when you received your approval letter. If you don't receive an invitation letter within 3 weeks of your approval letter I would suggest you follow the instructions on your approval letter and contact the Home Office.

Hi, there is a template of questions home office ask applicants they feel might have overstayed or have been illegal in the country at one point. They ask about the addresses you have lived in for a period of years, how and where you were working and many more.

I provided proof of address of all the places i lived in the years in question which is 2008- 2011.(letters from old gp, bills of the person i was living with, tenancy agreement with my name on it), home office acknowledgement letters of previous applications(covering 2008-2011) i made in the past, passport covering 2008-2011.

as yet not received any email etc about corrections sent via email or whether process has started.

i have still not received any notification about whether the additional correct information will be applied or not.

friend of mine who had similar issue, received an email notification a few days later , stating her additional information had been received and would be added to her documents.

should i send them another email or telephone them about this ?
please advise

HO do not 'hold your hand' during the process and keep you informed of every step of the process and progress. Suggest simply wait to hear from HO at whichever point they decide to write to you.

@amy786,

There's nothing to worry about. As long as the postal updates you sent the HO show up as "Delivered" to the correct address, the HO will take them into account and allocate them to your application provided you have supplied enough information for them to be able to look up and find your file.

I sent them three further correspondences after applying with additional information and did not receive an acknowledgement from HO at all for any of them. I did not chase them up either, as chances are you won't get a case-specific reply anyway. When I got my approval letter along with the returned documents, the updates I gave them were included as part of the returned documents, so they did allocate them and took them into account.

As CR001 has said, the HO will not necessarily update applicants at every step. It's frustrating and stressful for us as applicants to be kept completely in the dark, but it's how it is.
