Yes you can renew your passport whilst your naturalisation application is pending. You do not need to inform the Home Office of a new passport. I renewed my foreign passport whilst my naturalisation application was pending and didn't have to report it either.Trabecular wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 10:27 pmDear fellow applicants, can anyone help me please with the following information (I do need your advice):
1. My home country's EU passport (that I have applied with) has expired and I have left with my EU ID card that I use as document while traveling (same as the passport).
Should and can I renew my home country's passport while waiting for the naturalisation decision?
If yes, how to inform the HO about the changes and how it will affect the decision/passport application?
(I've written two emails to the HO, with no reply, I've read the guidelines, searched the Internet - nothing to be found).
2. May anyone suggest me the Home Office contact number, where I can ask the questions regarding the expired home country passport, please?
I am very anxious, as it is a very costly procedure and there is no clear information or contacts, and this uncertainty affects my study/work plans in a very negative way.
Please.
Thank you! I will do so. Today is exactly 4 months of waiting..Nerazzuri wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 10:51 amYes you can renew your passport whilst your naturalisation application is pending. You can't have applied for a British passport if you are not British.Vickie-Dineo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 5:25 pmEligibility criteria: 5 years + 4 years ILR

Nationality : Non EU
Method of application: Online + UKVCAS
Date of application: 21-05-2019
Date of acknowledgement: 21-05-2019

This is my application process so far. I got a call yesterday from the home office asking me if l would like to be issued with a passport in my maiden name. Has anyone else had this call? Does it mean my application was approved?
It doesn't make sense that you were asked about a passport when you have not applied for one. . That is a separate application with HMPO not HO, after you have been approved and attended your ceremony.Vickie-Dineo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 7:50 pmI am applying for my naturalisation not a British passport. I was asked if l wanted to apply for a British passport in my name once l naturalise. So my question was does this mean my application was successful if they are calling to ask.
I did not ask you to post your exact name. Does your foreign passport have your maiden name or another name, ie married name?Vickie-Dineo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 8:06 pmI don't feel comfortable giving out my name in a public forum but the name on my passport matched my name on my passport. I think l'll just call them back to clarify what the call was about. But the lady definitely asked me if l intend to use my maiden to apply for a British passport once l neutralise. Just wanted to know if anyone had experienced this too.
Not quite sure what you mean with this or if a typo?but the name on my passport matched my name on my passport.

How are home office confirm or come back to your regarding application? is it just Mail or will it be followed up by Email as well? just wondering if it is just Mail, it can be lost somewhere and there is no way to find out until whole 6 month will elapse?
thanks
