Dear All,
First of all I would like to thank to all people to contribute in this forum and advise on people circumstances.
I will apply Naturalisation in a month time and I have some confusion while saw the naturalisation form.
I married to eea national in 2008 and then got family member of European citizen residence card. I applied my IlR in 2012 and recieved in April 2013 on 10 years long term reaidence basis.
Now my first question is do I have to fill the eea family member section in naturalisation form or should I just leave it as I applied ilr on 10 years basis?
I have done my masters in 2007 so is that sufficient for English language requirements?
I have also passed my life in the UK rest in 2012, is it still valid or do I have to give it again?
Kind regards

You only need to do once Life in the UK test. Not exactly sure as far as English test is concerned but I believe your diploma in masters in UK should be enough. Please double check this.
I am sometimes wrong.

I received my ILR in August 2012 and am planning to apply for naturalisation in September this year. However, since the receipt of my ILR I have been out of the country for a total of 125 days - for a marriage in the family and my mother's operation. I know according to law you should not have been away from UK for more than 90 days. I am just wondering if I should wait or is there a possibility that I can apply and get it. I can always wait till March next year but would be nice if I can get it in September as I am have plans to go away for around a month in December.

Hi All,
I applied for citizenship recently through 5 year Tier 1 + 1 year ILR.
for all those 6 years I have been working continuously and I am still working and paying tax etc.
I got married last September(7 months ago). and my wife is still in my/her home country. She is planning to apply for spouse visa my/her home country in august.
Do you think does it cause an issue for my application that she is still in my/her home country?
Thanks

Hi Every One,
my question regarding Naturalisation, I heard any one got ILR before October 2013, he has no need to show English certificate B1/ only LIFE IN UK pass certificate is needed. Is this is true thanks.

Not true. Everyone who is applying after October 2013 needs to pass English certificate B1.

Hello,
I am an EEA national and this week I will send my application through NCS. I just want to check few things before my appointment. I have held PR card for more than one year and I acquired the PR card based on my father proving that he was exercising treaty rights. I have questions regarding some sections in the an form. Section 1.3: Do I have to put the issue date of my PR card? Sections 2.4 to 2.6: Do I have to leave it blank as I have PR card? I do not have to prove treaty rights again as I had been granted PR. Below I have made list of the documents I will enclose to my application and please let me know if I have miss something.
- Passport
- PR Card
- Residence: Letters from schools and from a charity that I have been volunteering as receptionist. I have also payslips from the beginning of this year.
- Life in the UK test
- IELTS academic

Hi dayana,
you will also need 2 referees. I think you will be asked to provide your passport to check if you meet residence requirements.

Yes, I have 2 referees that are meeting the criteria. I will include my passport in the application as well. Do I have to fill sections 1.3 and 2.4 to 2.6? Thank you for the quick reply.

Hi Londoner,
I don't thing your marital status is relevant to your application since you did not apply as a spouse of BC.

Most likely your payment will be declined and you will be asked to provide another payment.

Hello friends,
I am applying for naturalisation for my wife. I want to change her surname my family surname. It is ideal to apply for naturalisation and then apply for change in surname or the other way round. Any information on this would be helpful to me.
Many thanks.

It is better if you do it before the naturalization as it is quite a hassle to change your details once naturalized.

Hello All,
I've been granted ILR last December 2013 following 'Legacy cases'. Does anyone know that the discretion could apply to me for early naturalisation application?
Immigration history:
1. Entered UK in December 2006, applied asylum. Been granted DL (until October 2008) after asylum was refused in February 2007 .
2. Lodged in-time further leave application before DL expired.
3. Received acknowledge letter from HO confirming my case was among legacy cases handling by IND.
4. Case was transferred from IND to CAAU then to OLCU.
5. Got ILR in December 2013 after about 5 years waiting.
6. Live with partner and two children ( under 5 years old)
Thank you for your advice in advance!!!!

I am wondering if anyone would kindly help.
If I send off my original ILR BRP along with my naturalisation application by post, does it get returned to me after my application is approved? Or would the caseworker keep it, as they would normally do to other types of visa application, on the assumption that ILR is replaced by Citizenship hence cease to be valid?
Many thanks!!

Your BRP gets sent back to you along with all other supporting documents expect Life in the UK test certificate, the HO will not send back your LITUK test certificate.

Hi, I was told earlier that its easy to change names once your naturalized bu using deed poll. Before naturlisation, your are not British and other countries may have different process of changing names. For example, In India, its bit complicated as you are expected to post advertisements in a daily paper both at local address and permanent address (as in passport) and apply for a new passport (non-british). Then, you need to get a VISA stamp change as your current passport and visa (on old passport) have different names...
Were as if your are British (post naturalisation) a deed poll is all needed to change the name.
pls correct me if I'm wrong...
Cheers

Hi,
I have few questions regarding my citizenship application. I received my ILR in May 2013 on basis of 2 year spouse visa FLR(M). My husband is on ILR and has submitted his citizenship application in February 2014 via NCS and waiting for approval. He asked NCS about my citizenship application. NCS told that I should apply once my husband gets Naturalization Certificate. Then I can apply as wife of British Citizen.
My 3 years will be completed in May 2014 and I want to prepare for my application. Below are my questions:
1- English Language Requirement: In my ILR application I submitted my Master Degree which is from Non-English country + A letter from my university stating that Degree is taught in English + UKBA website Calculator printout which shows 20 points for education.
My question is that above mentioned documents are enough again for Citizenship application or do I need NARIC approval for my degree? or B1 CEFR?
Asking on NCA they told same documents on which basis I qualified for ILR are enough this time again. I checked UKBA calculator recently and its giving me same 20 points again. So my degree is valid. I just need to confirm that what should I do.. Same ILR docs or NARIC certificate or B1CRFR?
