Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Post by Vicks » Mon Sep 01, 2014 9:21 pm

Hello Everyone,

We are in the process of applying for naturalization.
In the QP of 5 years, I have a gap of 361 days, during which I was outside UK along with my son (he fell ill and we couldn't come back soon). 5 years from now, I was in UK (Sep-2009). But I went to India in the period - Apr-2010 to Apr-2011. Since Apr-2011, I have been residing here. In total my UK-absences come up to 430 days. I am only worried about this one stretch of 361 days.

My husband was here in UK all throughout.
I wanted to know whether it would affect my application process? Is it prudent to wait for my husband to get his citizenship and then for me to apply as his wife?

Please advice!
P.S: Apologies if this has already been answered. I searched all forum topics and couldn't find it. So, posting this!

Thanks,
Vicks

I applied through NCS for naturalisation in July, received a letter to send original life in the UK test and my city and guilds esol pass certificate entry level 3, which I send, received another letter today to send full esol certificate.

The one I have got says certificate of unit credits towards certificate. My friends wife got her naturalisation through the same certificate passed from the same center in Liverpool. So I don't understand why they are questioning mine.
I will call city and guilds on Monday to see what they say.

I would appreciate some advice from you guys as in past I have always got my answers through this forum.
Thanks

Hi All,

My question is why is there a wait for 365 days to get a british PP after ILR.
Though any eligibility is not required for British Citizenship what is the reason for this wait of 12 months.
can one claim eligible benefits during this period?

please can someone reply
Many Thanks

Hi all,

I am currently in the process of filling the AN naturalisation form and I am slightly confused about the dates for the Residence requirements.
I have been in the UK since 29th Sept 2003 and got my ILR on 2nd Sept 2014. However 5 years before , on 2nd sept 2009 i was actually out of UK on holiday and came back on 12th Sept 2009.

So I assume my minimum 5 years date/date of application should be 12th Sept 2014, instead of 2nd Sept. Can someone please advise?

Also will my first arrival date in the UK be 29th Sept 2003 or 12th Sept 2009?

Regards,

1: Your qualifying period starts from day you returned. I would give it a day extra just in case i.e. 13th of sep.
2: The date you arrived in UK.

Hi akhurshid,

thanks for your response. Can you confirm by the date you arrived in UK, do you mean when I first arrived in the UK in 2003 or 5 years prior to the application date?

Your qualifying period starts when you arrived back in UK i.e 12th of sepetember so apply after 12th.

v2rfrendz
That is the second thing. Form asks you when did you first arrive in UK. You should put 29th of sep there.

I hope its clearer now.

Wife and daughter's naturalisation eligibility ???

Post by BOSAAL » Mon Sep 08, 2014 11:09 pm

Hi Just a small question from gurus of the forum
I am applying for naturalization along with my wife and daughter of 4years in Dec 2014. I got ILR on the basis of 5 years under Tier1 General. My wife and daughter joined me in Aug 2011 and got ILR along with me in Dec 2013. Now Can my wife and daughter apply for nauralisation at the same time as me OR they will have to wait till i get naturalised first and they apply as a dependent on a british citizen.
Your expert advice will be much appreciated

Hi
I am currently filling up the AN Form and I finding it very challenging to understand which laws apply to my application....

Spanish entered uk 2002 to marry BC.
No Visa, no ILR, no CSI as no relevant at the time.
UK student for 12 years with evidences.
2 UK EHC covering the whole period of time, Spanish National Health Card, 1 NHS card. Not acceptable by HO.

I meet all requirements except for the CSI because when I entered the UK it was no need for it as it was no requirement for students until 2011? Please correct me if I am wrong.
When did I obtained automatic PR 2005? 2007? Does it make any difference if I obtained PR in 2005-2007 in reference to the need to provide CSI?
Is it relevant that at the time I became automatically PR was no requirement for students to have a CSI as NHS and EHC were issued and in use?
Did I ever became a PR?

What should I do? Would it make any difference if I get CSI now that I am aware of it to comply with the new requirement?

Can somebody please advice?

Hi Guys,

I would like to thank everyone (moderators, gurus and all other involved) in putting an effort and helping us all out. I successfully got my ILR in OCT 12 with the support from this forum.

Now, I am applying for Naturalisation in Sept 14 and whilst filling the form I got stuck in few sections. I would really appreciate if I could get some help:

Section 3.1,3.2,3.3,3.4,3.5

I have been unemployed since Nov 2013 and I got my P45 detailing out my gross pay, taxes and NI paid when I left. In this sections it asks my occupation, my status, employer, its address, tax reference etc. I don't know what should I do here.

However, I was and am currently a director of my limited company which was incorporated in 2011. This has been dormant since its incorporation as there has been no trading. I can do a self assessment for the tax year 13/14 as I was a director but it will only have earnings from my employment to Nov13 as mentioned above reflected in my P45. Is there any kind of requirement of doing this or can I just show my P45 and state that I am unemployed currently.

Section 2.2

I had to apply for a new passport in Sept 12 just before my ILR application in OCT 12 as my previous passport got lost/stolen. I provided a letter from my employers covering the period May 2007 to Sept 12 confirming my absence for my ILR application in Oct12. Now that I am applying for naturalisation in Sep14, I think I need to confirm my residency from Sep 2009 to Sep 2014 for naturalisation purpose. Can your please confirm? Also, can I use the same employer letter which I provided for my ILR application dated Oct 12 signed and stamped by the company which will confirm my residency from Sep 09- Sep 12. For the period Oct 12- Sept 14 I have my new passport with all ins and outs stamps. Kindly advise.

During the last 5 years (from Sept 14) I have not been away for more than 100 days too and each trip was less than 30 days and not more than 90 days in a single year.

I really appreciate all your help and thanks again in advance.

If you're self employed just state that with your UTR number.

Hi Amber,

I am not currently registered as a self employed but I am just a director of my limited company. However I do have a UTR no.

Should I tick on director box and write down my UTR no in tax reference box?

Thanks for your help.

Hi All - I am looking to apply for Naturalisation, before joining my partner in Australia for around 9 months while she completes a Masters degree, before moving back to the UK. I don't expect to move abroad permanently but unsure if this would fall foul of the intention to live in the UK provision? I own a house and have strong ties to the UK but would be leaving my job and unsure how that would look.

The plan would be to stay in the UK for a couple of weeks after application (NCS) rather than have to wait around for 4 months.

I have seen a few posts on various forums but majority dating to 2012 so looking to see if anyone had any recent experience. If I were to be declined on this basis, would that prejudice my ILR or latter applications?

Thanks

Change of Address?

Post by fwd079 » Mon Oct 13, 2014 1:56 pm

Hi all,

Just wondering, my application is about to go in process, but what to do if I get a good job offer and I have to move?
Will change of address be a pain? (perhaps it is, just confirming  )

Cheers mate, although I'm sure its working but still its a "trial" service and postals have no confirmations sent. So I've decided to stop job search till December-March so that I'd get my reply back as well as three month's waiting period is covered.

Hi everybody,
I wonder if anyone could answer my questions please?
My boyfriend has applied for naturalisation since 9 May 2014 and he hasn't received any answer from them(after few days will be 6 months since the application is made).
He sent the application form, from the solicitor because he checked all the papers.

We don't know what to do?
Is anything that we can do after 6 months?

Many thanks in advance

After 6 months have passed since the date of application he can contact his MP who can contact HO on his behalf and usually that helps.
I am sometimes wrong.

I have a non custodial sentences and I applied for naturalisation in 2010 but got rejected on good character requirements. The refusal letter sates that the earliest I can re-apply is Apr 2015. Now my question is, the threshold is 3 years now according to the new law. Will I qualify to apply now or should I wait until Apr 2015... Can u give me an expert advice on this issue please?

Just a thought.
A lot of applications's fees in October 2014 are being debited 15 days after application. Christmas mode on me thinks, but hopefully will be getting replies in mid January 2015.

Good luck all. :)

Hi there,

I have a question regarding ABH cautions and applying for citizenship.

I am 22 EEA national who has lived in the UK for over 10 years. I moved to the UK at a tender age of 11 due to my parents migrating. I was once arrested at 17 for ABH which resulted in reprimand. Year later at 18 I was arrested again for the same reason which resulted in an ABH caution. I have worked part time for few years paid taxes etc. also attended school, college and university. The last offence happened over 3 years ago. I was wondering what is the chance of my application being refused due to these events?

If someone could possibly shed some light on whether it is worth bothering with an application for citizenship I would be very grateful.

Thank you.

P.S Sorry I'm new and not sure if this is the right place to post such question
