Hi again,

I replied to the email i received yesterday asking if the decision letter has been despatched and just got another reply:

Dear Mr,

I can confirm that the decision letter has not yet been issued, but will be shortly, exact timescale unknown.  I can also confirm that is will despatched the postal address supplied on your application form.

The great thing is you've got a decision, so not too long now. In my case, I've had no luck with emails to "NationalityFrontEndTechnicalSpecialists@homeoffice.gov.uk" and only get generic response from emails sent to "NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gov.uk". Did you have a similar experience before you got a proper response?

Please can you advise what you asked them when you sent your enquiry email?

Thanks

Hi,
The 1st email i sent was on 08/01/2020 at 22:30 and got the same generic reply.

I sent the following:

(Dear,

I would like to know what is the status of my British citizenship application (CASE ID XXXXX) that i made back in November.

Many thanks in advance.)

They replied back on 9/1/2020 at 16:24, see my previous post.

Then sent another email yesterday at 23:15

(Dear,

Great news, many thanks for your reply.

Has the decision letter been sent to my address?

Thanks,)

Thanks for the reply. I think most people get their letters with 7 days to 14 days after a decision is made. Maybe you can follow up with your council this time next week to check if they've received your certificate. For my council, you have to wait until they send you an invitation letter for the citizenship ceremony before you can call them to book.

Hi everyone,

I emailed NationalityFrontEndTechnicalSpecialists@homeoffice.gov.uk last evening and I got the following reply at 15.25:

Dear Miss

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the application for naturalisation as a British Citizen.

I can advise that your application was approved yesterday, 09/01/2020, and you will receive official confirmation shortly.

Regards

I am so glad the wait is finally over after exactly 8 months. Thanks everyone for your encouragement and updates. If it were not for this forum I would have given up ages ago.

Goodluck to everyone who is waiting.

Hello guys.
I have been recently told (the resource of information is reliable) that ho are currently short of staff, transferred some people from naturalisation to eu processing application and also prioritize the applicants from EU, tier 1 and 2, investors and spouses. There is definitely an unofficial priority line for some people. That’s why some receive it within 4 weeks and other like wait for over 6 months.
You decide but it seems that the information is definitely true. So it really depends on your previous status in the UK.
Good luck to everyone.

Thank you PPTP for this information
The person had already listed almost all categories prioritised a part of settled refugees applying for citizenship. It is expected but it is sad indeed to find out that they are the least at the HO list of priorities while they might be the most desperate as they have given their maim passports years ago .

Thank you again and good luck to everybody waiting . God knows how hard is that wait

Never gotten a reply from them. Sent a couple of mails over the past 2 weeks and got no human response - just an auto reply that if they didn’t get in touch with me initially, my email will be deleted.

Hi everyone,

We are about to book an appointment with UKVCAS however got confused with two things.

My apologies in advance if these questions have already been asked and answered however I could not find a search feature on the page maybe because I use my mobile to access to the forum.

So my questions are as follows:

1) We want to book a standard appointment at Croydon(Core) but it still asks for £150. Is that normal? Isn't it supposed to be free?

2) Are we going to be asked to post our passports at any point or will they only be checked at the appointment? The reason I am asking is because in parallel with this application, I am hoping to get my newborn son's passport sorted too. That process definitely requests me posting my passport.

Hope my questions are clear enough and thanks in advance for any reply.

1. Unless you book a free appointment if one is available, all others have a charge. Why do you believe it should be free for a standard appointment?
Core service points: these are based in larger locations and offer both free of charge appointments and out of hours appointments.
2. No, only checked at appointment. Nothing is posted to HO unless they specifically write to you during the process and ask for it.

No free appointment was mentioned anywhere (not even mentioned but greyed out) so I thought that the standard ones should be the free ones, then why the charge! Now I understand that free ones are categorised separately.

Thanks for your prompt reply on both questions. Much appreciated.

Hi there i received this email today from MMST FMT

Applications are dealt with in application receipt date order. Therefore as your application was received on 19th September 2019,  It will take a while longer for your application to be considered. Once your application is decided, you will be contacted by your caseworker.

Thank you

Hello guys

From my observations I suppose that replies that are generic have only Homeoffice.gov.uk at the end of the email rather than the address in Liverpol ( area zone , liverpool address )

Good luck all

This maybe take longer as I applied in May 2019 and received a similar reply back in October 2019. Keep calm and carry on. There is no other option except wait with patience. Please note, if HO e-mail contained person name or Liverpool address at the end then it's a real e-mail and you can think to invest hope but if the e-mail contains a web address then keep hope save.

Hi my application was received nearly 5 months ago, I'm wondering why it's taking too long. Does it have to do with applying as a refugee or that I didn't use a solicitor for my application? And how much longer can it take and will I hear from HO if it's going to be longer than 6 months and is it likely to be more than 6 months? I'm have never broken any laws or had any troubles accept some financial difficulties and some debt

I gave bio-metrics in November, haven't heard anything back. Is there any email address I can use to check the status? My case is very straight forward, just seeing naturalisation timeline forum and people applied after me received approval so bit worried.
