PBS dependent visa expires 1 month after PBS ILR application

Post by anandvincent78 » Thu May 30, 2013 9:46 pm

Hi,

I am on a Tier 2 visa and my wife is with me here on a Tier 2 dependent visa. I qualify for an ILR on a long residence route in August 2014. However, both our visa's end in September 2014. My wife does not qualify for an ILR any time soon. If I apply for my ILR in August, what visa category can my wife apply for?

Thanks in advance.

Anand.

FLR(M) is for partners of a British citizen or a person who is settled in UK. However, when my wife applies in September before her visa runs out, I would have applied for the ILR in August. As the processing times for long residence is about 6 months, I would not already have an ILR. Unless I am missing something it is only after I have got an ILR that my wife can apply using FLR(M).

You can write a letter explaining you have applied on Set(LR) and the reference number etc for UKBA to link your wife's application to yours.
