Tier 2 Visa - Register with police required?

Is it a requirement to register with the police when you get your Tier 2 General Visa?

I was on PSW and was not required to register as my nationality was not on the list.

Most likely no. If it is required to register with the police then it is written on the back of the Biometric Residence Permit under remarks section.

I am Japanese so I assume it is ok?
No it is not written on the back of my card.
