working for EU based company in US

Hi,

I am from an European country and I live and work in another European country where the european company I work for is based, and they have an office in USA.

Is it legal to go to work to USA for the European office with only applying for the ESTA? Having a contract in Europe, doing tasks for the european office, receiving my salary from the european office and receiving it to my european bank account but spending the work time in the office in US for 3 months?
