Actually, the DBS do hold an extract of the PNC which will indicate whether a person has a criminal record and then the DBS will request the conviction details from the police.Ayyubi72 wrote:Yes, CRB does not hold and never has held any data. They just provide a service.
Exactly like a travel agent does not own the airlines, but sells its tickets.
UKBA never does a CRB check. CRB check is done by organisations that do not have access to PNC. UKBA has direct access to PNC, so all they need to do is, click a few buttons on the keyboard.
CRB is now known by some new funny name.
Hi Amber, I believe and agree with what you said....so based on your clarification, can i ask you my original question again? " If my CRB/DBS comes clean is it sensible to presume that i don't have any criminal conviction and somehow meets the "Good character requirements" ( aside other considering factors)?D4109125 wrote:Actually, the DBS do hold an extract of the PNC which will indicate whether a person has a criminal record and then the DBS will request the conviction details from the police.Ayyubi72 wrote:Yes, CRB does not hold and never has held any data. Perhaps, but as you are required to declare the conviction - a 'material fact' they will be made aware of the conviction and can contact the relevant agency direct to enquire about this conviction and thus refuse you. If you wish to apply with a conviction it must be the only one you have and must be minor e.g. the fine was minor. In your case I would be inclined to think that declaring it with a compelling letter and asking for discretion might be the way forward if you are unwilling to wait providing the offence was not one which would constitute recklessness.fazhaque wrote:Hi Amber, I believe and agree with what you said....so based on your clarification, can i ask you my original question again?
