Cohabitation Supporting Documents query

Post by shuttlespy » Mon Jul 01, 2013 10:45 am

Hello everyone

I have a query on Cohabitation supporting documents. All the bills are in my name, only council tax is on our joint names, she has her own bank account though.

Now I misplaced last year’ council tax bill somewhere and couldn’t find it anywhere. Council said they cant issue a duplicate one and if they send me a letter it will take another week.

I have her last two year’ bank statement, so instead of council tax bills can I take all two years statements as proof of cohabitation to PEO?

Thanks

You dont necessarily need to have documents in joint names. However you will need to submit 6 sets of documents each in your and your wife's names. These will need to be spread over the whole 2 years and should be from at least 3 different sources.

So you can submit your wife's bank statements, but if they are all from the same bank, you will need two more sets. Also you will need to submit evidence of your residence for the address, so 6 documents / statements in your name from 3 different sources.

Still very confused about this really, as guidance doesnt give enough info at all.

I'm trying to get a letter from GP and a letter from Council, hope to get this on time.

thanks

For roughly every 4 months over the 2 year period you need a joint letter or one each from a total of 3 different sources. HMRC, utility, phone bill, bank statements etc... Should suffice.

Basically as D4109125 has mentioned try to get one document for every 4 months or so. They would like to see evidence spread over a 2 year period rather than documentation covering only a few months. Bank statements, landline / gas / electricity / water / council tax bills, HMRC documentation, GP registration cards. You can use any combination of these

1) original marriage certificate
2) Birth certificate of my son born in UK.
3) My wife is with me from last 7 years and when i applied first time on tier 1 (G) migrant visa.
4) Electrol registration 2012-13

I m trying my best to get as many docs as I can.

John, I shall be going to Croydon PEO, wish me luck mate.

Hey one more question - if we give out 5 years P60's so do they calculate the gross wages based on that or is it just to check the economic activity?

thanks

Please go through my documents list and experience. I did not produce any every 4 months over the 2 year period.
