VAF5 form - Unmarried Partner

Hello,

I am Irish and I'm currently living and working in the UK. My girlfriend of five years is from the US and is currently living there. We have lived together in both Ireland and the US on and off over the past few years (as our visas have allowed) and have continued our relationship online when we have been apart.

We are currently hoping that she can come to live with me in the UK on the EEA family permit. However, when filling out the form the option for Unmarried Partner states that we must currently live in a marriage-like relationship. Does it matter than we are not currently living together? The reason why we are applying is so that we can live together!

have u both live together in any of these countries for minimum of two years? and if both of you have bills together in any of the addresses for the two years?
as uk only need these proof of two years for unmarried applicants.
i applied and got my RC as unmarried partners with my EU FINNISH PARTNER. In 2011.

Many thanks for your reply. Unfortunately we have only ever been able to obtain 12 months visas which means the longest continuous duration together has been a year. That is the reason why we are currently not living together. That said, in total we have spent more than two years living together and we have plenty of evidence of our relationship and of our periods of cohabitation.

as u said yr partner is frm U.S, she can enter uk wit out a visa tho.. if she gets here, u guys can apply for her RC using all d cohabiting docs u both av together while outside the uk. and as long as u are still wrking in uk now, u wil need to put all yr wrking details to support it - plz check requirements for such application.
or try to let her apply for eea family permit visa frm U.S before cumin to uk, check the requirements too. but am sure its same for unmarried route.
once she is here, u can then let her switch to RC.
