Adopting someone..

Post by Aleena_wasiq1 » Wed Jul 03, 2013 9:16 pm

hi i want to ask about adoption. if someone of age 22 years old lives in uk and he/she does not have any status now, before he/she was on student visa which has been expired 6 months ago but home office did not grant him/her further visa due to some reason and now there's a british national family here wants to adopt him/her. is it possible for them to adopt and sponsor him/her for further leave to remain in Uk, if yes then what is procedure to apply for it.

Looking forward for your kind help.....

To be honest, I don't think it is possible anywhere in the world to adopt someone who is over 18 years of age. Someone aged 22 is considered an adult.

This would be a very risky road to try just to regulate someones visa status!!

How long has the said person been in the UK? Where were they from previously and what ties have they got to the UK?
