EEA family permit

Just wondering, I'm a BC and my wife is an non EU citizen living oversea's. I read on a blog that a guy said that you should take your family to a EU country and live there for 3 months then your wife can apply to enter the UK and live!

Is this true and how doe's it really work? :?
