Hi Rihan,

I have first hand experience in this.

Your company/employer applied for Tier 2 Sponsor Licence today. First of all they will get a notification from UKBA asking them(your employer) to provide supporting documents. Your employer should send this to them in the timescale mentioned by UKBA.

Within 2 months someone from UKBA will visit your employer. Only then your employer's sponsor licence application will proceed. It is this visit that takes ages for ukba to organize.

Once, the visit is satisfactory, your employer will hear within 2 weeks. Tops I say maximum within 2 and a half months.

>> This of course means that your employer has submitted everything satisfactory because UKBA only request further correspondence by post which will further delay the processing times.

Don't you just hate ukba for this despite contacting employer by email they do this by post.

Hope this helps clarify

Not all firms get visited prior to a licence being issued, some get visited afterwards. UKBA currently quoting "4 to 8 weeks on average" as a processing time.

Jeeves, could you tell us where you got the quote of "4 to 8 weeks on average" as a processing time from? I really need to know how long this will take since my company applied a month ago for licence and my visa appointment is in 2 weeks and visa expiring in 3 weeks..

Hi,
I applied for sponsorship license 3rd week of Jan. First 2 weeks in Jan were spent putting together documents. I enlisted a barrister for the job.

On 12/2, I had Home Office inspection. This was done on my business premises, which are close to HO office in Croydon. However, the inspector tried to pay a unscheduled visit a week before on 6/2 at company registered address (my home). I wasn;t around as I work mostly from client site. I didnt want the discussion to happen at home, and scheduled the appointment at my business premises. The inspector asked for more documentation which I emailed to her later on 12/2

On 14/2, today, I recd the following email
*******
From: <no-reply@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk>
Date: 14 Feb 2014 08:28
Subject: Sponsorship Management System - Information for the Level 1 user
To: <removed>
Cc:

You have been nominated as a Level 1 user for <removed> as part of the sponsor licensing process under the Points Based System (PBS) administered by UK Visas & Immigration.

We have now activated your Sponsorship Management System (SMS) account which will allow you (on behalf of your organisation) to assign Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies/ Certificates of Sponsorship to sponsor migrants under PBS.

********
Does that mean the Sponsorship license has been accepted? I haven't been able to check any letters in the post yet.

Thanks
Abhi
