Are payslips must for family visitor visa?

Post by tier-1 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 6:08 pm

Hello Friends,

My parents and in-laws would be applying for family visitor visa. I have seen the visa application form and it requires evidences of my "finances and employment".

I have been unemployed since April-13 and therefore can't produce payslips.
My only option is to send the tax return document (P45 or letter from HMRC) and bank statements showing availability of funds.

Just wanted to find out if that is okay? Would lack of payslips alert the caseworkers? Have people got family visitor visa on the basis of tax return document?

Thanks for your replies.

You only need to show income if you are sponsoring them financially.

If you are - and you are unemployed - then you'll need a significant pot of savings to cover it.

Thanks MPH80.

They will not need financial sponsorship, as such? I did go through the Visa form but cannot see where and how the applicant shows that he is being sponsored by his relative in UK?

Then if they don't need financial sponsorship - don't provide any documentation from your side!

Make sure they provide enough evidence of their ability to fund the trip.
