When can I apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK?

Post by Jivis7 » Sun Aug 04, 2013 11:44 am

Thanks for creating a forum like this, to help people like me to better understand where we stand,
I will just go straight to the point, I applied for leave to remain on the ground of access to my child who is a British citizen and was granted discretionary leave to remain for three years in July 2008 because I entered the country Illegally and in june 2011, I sent in my application for renewal and was only renew in may 2012 for just five month because They said that they are waiting for the outcome of the court case between me and the social service, in October 2012, I put another application for extension before the four months expires, in november 2012, a care order was awarded in favor of the social service and I was awarded three hours contact with my son every month, in march 2013, the UKBA requested I go for a biometric which I did and in June they requested for the decision of the case between me and the social service which I sent to them and My visa was renewed till January 2016, I just want to find out if I can apply for Indefinite leave to remain next year, because July next year will make six years, I've been granted Discretionary leave to remain, please advice. Thanks
Jivis7.

When a persons has held discretionary leave for a period of 6 years under the old rules, and there is no criminality issues, they should be entitled to settle.
