I'm guessing there was no indication on when these would be resolved? Reckon it's just a dodgy printer then and not the RC issuing side that has a problem.. Gotta love the home office. Will forward this to the press and see it it sticks.
considering they have issued fees, you'd think they'd buy a new printer...

If thats the reason then why don't they confidentially borrow printer from any applicant for this purpose and many applicant will be ready to offer.

Hi guys,
Printing issues seem to be resolved now as our RC arrived today after 7.5 months. Passport is still lost though :( Overall, "great" service.

Out of sheer happiness, you refer to this abysmal processing times as an overall great service? It just made me laugh how the human memory banks operates. Enjoy your RC!

Yes, "great" in quotation marks. It was the WORST service EVER.
And yes, on an A4 paper as there was no passport to print it into...

You should write to them and request a specific figure of compensation.

Hi, thanks for the advice. We will submit a detailed list with costs and receipts. We were less angry about the processing time than about the loss of my husband's passport. We had plans to travel in two weeks for a big family party, which is impossible now. :(

Personally I would ask for costs of the passport replacement and the travel expenses of the trip you booked.
I would also ask for £500 pounds of damages for exceeding the statutory limit of 6 months. I am very serious about asking for this.

TBF, considering the cost of processing a IR based application is more than £500, this figure seems a little low - and more than fair for the HO to honour...

No.
complete form
EEA2 from inside the UK.
The "Visa" is an EEA Family Permit, and is only required * to enter the UK.
* note, that the visa is not mandatory. if you can get to the uk border, you must be admitted to the uk on a Code 1A stamp if qualified for entry.
