Tier 2 visa with traffic offence

Post by HarDe » Wed Aug 07, 2013 3:03 pm

Hi all,

I am in some situation.

I am just finishing PhD and , and some university is applying for my tier 2 visa. Few months ago, I brought a used car on a Sunday and was parking it in front of my house on the road side parking- just 10 minutes after buying it (i had not driven it before that, it was from a friend). I lost control and hit a car on the road side parking. I called police and I was charged with 1) careless driving 2) driving without insurance 3) driving on invalid Indian license .

Court charged me with 350£ fine, which I paid.

I will of-course declare this in my application. Can this be a ground for refusal? I know it was stupid of me, but need to know from someone who was/is in similar situation or someone who has some experience with this situation..

Why did you call the police? (just a joke)

I am not sure if it would make your application invalid but seems like serioues offense.

Could you please explain the "invalid Indian licence" part? I've been driving here on my Pakistani licence, am I breaking the law? I thought we're allowed to drive on a foreign licence for one year.
