OCI Application without surrender of passport cert

Post by d4rmsc » Sun Aug 18, 2013 10:39 pm

Hi,
I want to apply for OCI but not sure if the documents I have are enough for the application, can someone please advise.
I am UK born British passport holder, my father was born in India in 1954 and came to the UK in the 70s. He does not have his old Indian passport or surrender of passport certificate but does have his birth certificate and school leaving certificate which were in Gujarati but also have a affidavit notarised translation to English. (He has been a UK passport holder from the 80s).
I also have my UK birth certificate which proves the relationship between myself and my father.
I would like to know if this is enough proof to apply for a OCI,
Many thanks

In my opinion the documents are fine to satisfy the OCI conditions.

You should be fine... what about your mothers side, you should provide some documents from her side as well..
