Second extension - 2 years or 3 years?

Post by params0073 » Mon Aug 19, 2013 12:42 pm

Hi all,
I am under 3+2 year scheme. My initial visa start date was 30 march 2009.I applied for first extension (15 April 2012)which I got for two year (which is correct). As I enter UK late (10 months late )so I applied for second extension on 15 aug 2013 and now I have received BRP today with 3 year extension.

My question, is that ok or do I need to inform UKBA as according to my understanding I should have got 2 years extension rather then 3 years?

Thanks

Param

Do you need to inform UKBA? - No.
Is the period of grant correct? - See this topic.

Thanks sushdmehta.I have seen some more topics in which people were expecting 2 year but got 3.I think its based on case worker discretion as they have every record of us in their system. Any way I am happy with 3 years :)

params0073 - Did you apply by post/in person? did they ask you why you are applying 8-9 months before your visa expiry? thanks

I think most of the guys in 3+2 got 3 years for second extension.

I also applied a few months before expiry and did PEO, there were no questions. The end date for new extension will be 3 years from date of applying.

No question asked at PEO.
