New premium appointment system

Post by kakamanna » Fri Aug 23, 2013 9:51 am

I booked my ILR Set O premium appointment last night for Solihull. I was under the impression that I'll be asked to call a number at the end of the process to pay £100 for each applicant. Instead, the system asked me to pay the full fee (i.e. 2,589.00 for Main + Dep). I have received a Transaction Confirmation email from WorldPay Card services. I can also confirm that said amount has been reserved from my credit card as well. Has anyone noticed this change? or have I chosen wrong options leading me to this scenario?

If this is a new system going forward, In one way I think it's good as you don't have to worry about your card being declined on the appointment day - Full payment is already taken. Another way it's bad as imagine a pain of waiting for a full fee refund from UKBA if you happen to be cancelling your appointment and/or rebooking it for another day.

Or if you are booking the appointment well in advance and don't have the disposable income. I think a booking fee deposit of £100 was sufficient to avoid overbooking, it seemed to have done the job. They should have just offered an optional service of full payment. So either pay £100 or pay the entire fee.

Also, what about those who want to pay on two or more different cards, is that still possible through worldpay? This has reduced at least 1 member of staff at each PEO - the payment officer.
