Absence from the UK letter

Post by raykau » Mon Sep 02, 2013 5:22 pm

Hello I would be grateful to have any advice on the below:

I am currently under the old work permit but have got a job offered by another employer willing to do Tier (2) G. I have 4 months left till my ILR.

If I go ahead and join the new company, how do I provide my new employers to provide me with my leave of absence letter? or is it fine if I provide it myself as it will be backed by my passport stamps as to when I have been out of the country?

Any advice on this will be much appreciated.

Thanks

I would be grateful if someone can please advise me on this. I am scheduled for my ILR in 4 months time, but have been offered another job from a different employer who is willing to do my Tier 2(G). In that case if the new employer is willing to authorize my paid leave list for the last 4 years 8 months is it fine? or how does this work.

Any views / thoughts on this will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

So far as your absences are <180 days per 12 month period you should not be asked for evidence.

Hi, I believe there is still requirment to provide employer letter for absences even though they are <180 days. SET(O) Section 6 states the same. However what is confusing is that section 11 doesn't talk about the same. Not sure which one to take on board.

Amber,

if possible, COuld you please provide more clarity in this regard?

I am interested in the answer to this as well. I am to qualify for ILR this year (year 5) but I do not have a letter for the last 4 years as I changed employers last year. My current employer can only cover this year's absences out of UK (Year 5). In no year was I absent for more than 180 days but I understand I still need a later to say that I was away on paid annual leave or for work purposes?

Although the guidance requires evidence, in practice, you will not need any evidence so far as the absences are <180 days per 12 month period.

Hi,

Last week I got my ILR and I did submit the absence letter from my current employer only. I had only 150 days in 5 years. I changed to new employer in June 13 and applied for ILR in Aug 13. There was no issues.

When you leave the existing employer, take the relieving letter and I think you can take the absence letter as well from them (just in case CW asks).
