Hi guys,
Newbie here so please be gentle. Sorry if what I'm going to ask has been asked a million times before but I just don't know where to start looking!
Ok, I need some advice on applying for the spouse visa. My wife will be applying soon once she has passed the english language exam.
We first met in kiev on the 13th February and got married on the 23rd July. We are currently staying together here in ukraine at her dads place, she is also 20 weeks pregnant. The first query I have is should we put on the application form that she is pregnant? I feel like they might refuse the visa until I can prove I am the father, which would have to be done after the baby is born! Now we both really want the baby to be born in England (although that is out of our hands).
With regards to the financial stuff, we are doing this based on my savings as I am not currently working, is this any better than income based or is there no difference? Also do I need to get statements from my bank or will they accept statements printed off from my account online?
I own my own home, do we need to send any documents proving I own it or just write in the application form that its mine?
The last question I have (for now!!!) we need to show that our relationship is genuine, are they after photos of us together? Or is there something else we need do do? They will obviously want the original marriage cert, but this is in Ukrainian, should we put in a translated copy too?
Sorry for so many questions, I just want to make sure the application is done right. From the info I have given so far, does it sound like this should be a fairly (in theory) straight forward process? Or could we be in for a long journey?
Any help would be fantastic
