Nikkah/Civil marriage and not lived togeter

Post by crunchy80 » Sun Sep 08, 2013 8:30 pm

Dilemma! So me and my wife had religious marriage/nikkah last year as its a tradition in parts of Pakistan to do so before actually having the formal wedding. This was done with family gathering at a venue with guests invited.

I am in the process of applying for visa and I do believe one of the questions asked on the forms is how long has the couple lived together. Issue being we haven't lived together at all so far and have the actual wedding in a couple of months time.

Before that I'd like to be able to apply for my visa so that we can straight away move after marriage. Not sure if this question answered as not being lived together would have any negative impact on the application as a spouse.

Please advice :)

Additional question:

What constitutes a certified translator and where can I find one for example in Lahore-Pakistan.

Please advise Smile

Thanks!

If u got marriage certificate thn just apply for spouse visa and explained on coveribg letter whether it was arange marriage thn its a norm shudnt be a problem they know couple in pakistan dont live together before marriage but if u got any proof of contact with ur spouse like phone calls if they have met u before wedding just explain all this on a letter. And you have to met financial requirements to be approved if everything else is ok with ur case. If not then if other than financial requirements everyyhing else is ok with ur case then they will hold it.

usually the same molana have English nikah nama forms too who gave you urdu one if they dont there any other molivi must have take from them its same as urdu one and after filling the both you gonna go to union counsel to register the nikah nama they gonna enter in nadara system and gonna attest both of them also gonna give you one computerized nikah nama from nadara then take all these to foreign affairs office get attested from there then you can use your nikah nama anywhere in the world
