can anyone help?

Post by julie1966 » Tue Sep 10, 2013 10:27 am

my partner and i married (it was a whirlwind proposal)he was here on a visitor visa for 6 months from St lucia. We knew hed have to leave to apply for a spouse visa so did.No criminal convictions in either country for either of us.Im british born n bred. I run my own childminding business and my last tax return was for 19,300 profit. I sent him back to st lucia with business bank accounts for 12 months,personal bank account statement for 12 months,copies of my Ofsted registration,public liabilty insure both for my address. Ive got no dependants.I even sent my reeipts for NI payments, My UTR and our wedding photos.So i was heart broken yesterday after 12 weeks to get an email saying his visa is on hold because i dont meet the financial requirements or/and didnt provide evidence. I emailed them asking what else they need and they emailed back saying they wont tell my but refered to to the sole trader part of the financial requirements. And i cant find what i missed. I was up all night going through all my work contracts and copied them,along with all my childminding regulations targeted at my address and have fed ex them to Jamaica today, they will arrive tomorrow. Can anyone please tell me what else i can do?

Check Annex FM 1.7 (click) at 9.6.1. and make sure that you sent all that is there, if not, send what you missed ASAP and ask for a decision. Appears to me you didn't send:
(b) The latest:
(i) annual self-assessment tax return to HMRC (a copy or print-out);
(ii) Statement of Account (SA300 or SA302); and
(iii) the same for the previous financial year if the latest return does not show the necessary
level of gross income, but the average of the last 2 financial years does.

Im calculating my profit through what i get paid every month.Most of my clients pay directly into my business account and another client always paid cash which i always gave a receipt for.My grown children who both live at home share the cost of running the home and as i spent alot of money the previous yr 2010-2011 ive not had to buy any new resources towards my work.so other than about £700 ive had no work related outgoings(the joys of working from home i guess).
