From the look of things, those that applied 1st week of October are getting decisions now, very encouraging to know that even with the backlog, the UKBA from the time of application to decision, it's taking no more than 2 months.

The Funy thing is, some people who are receiving the approval letters, did not receive the acknowledgment letters.

Thanks.

All those who are waiting: Calling Home Office doesnt work. If the fees are deducted, then assume your application is under consideration and doesnt matter how big is the backlog etc, you will get the result within 2-3 weeks (assuming case is straight forward)

Good luck to you all.

I don't think you should worry much, there are people who applied before you and have not yet gotten their acknowledgement letters or nonies taken out of their accounts. There is currently a backlog at UKBA because of the rush applications for people chosing not to be caught in the fracus of the new rules that came into force on the 28th of Oct 2013.

You'll should be able to see that money deducted from your acount sometime this week, coz most of the people who applied a week before you just had their monies taken 30th Oct, 1st, 2nd Nov

I don't seem to have any confirmation from NCS or UKBA regarding the acknowledgement that they have received my application. The tracking number NCS gave me was with thedx.co.uk and doesn't seem to work. very worried.
I've called the NCS and they dont seem to have any knowledge about it.
Any suggestions? Should I put another application?

Eligibility criteria: 3 yrs spouse of BC (AN + MN1)
Method of application: Royal Mail special delivery
Date of Application: 10/10/13
Date of Receipt: 11/10/13
Date of debit of fees: 31/10/13 or earlier, cheques not cleared in bank a/c yet.
Date of acknowledgement: 31/10/13 received 4/11/13
Date of approval:
Date of ceremony:

Acknowledgement letter says fees are paid and gives total, bank a/c still shows nothing so don't worry about fees not taken yet especially if you paid by cheque.

Getting slightly worried now as the fees hasn't been debited but I am slightly at ease seeing that other members fees hasn't been debited either.

I am going to wait another week and see if the fees come out if not then I will be phoning them up.

This is probably the first time I want my account debited asap :D

Good Luck everyone.

good news all over...great progress...well, I've just called Croydon Contact Center, a nice lady answered my call, she was very polite and gave status for both me and my daughter's MN1.

She said my application(s) has been allocated to a case work and it is still processing and no letters have been sent out yet...so seems lot of applications are under processing

That is great news forbc123. Atleast now they are picking up applications from the 1st week of October. I applied on 2nd Oct joint application, emailed nationality helpdesk yesterday 4th Nov, but they replied back saying that no decision has yet been made on my application. And then received another email that it has not yet been taken into consideration, after I asked if a case worker has been assigned or not.
