I applied on 4th November. No news yet. I think they are under huge pressure with loads of applications so I would just be patient and wait at least a couple of months before getting in touch.

No acknowledgement or fee deductions as yet

Post by dr_me » Mon Nov 25, 2013 12:06 pm

Applied on 24th OCT reached HO on 25th through NCS. No fee is deducted nor any acknowledgement is received.
It has been more than a month now and has exceeded even the time mentioned on their website to receive acknowledgement i.e. with 4weeks in busy time.
The official application processing time is 95% within 6months and unfortunately our clock has not even started yet!!!!!

October apps table

Post by jotter » Mon Nov 25, 2013 1:38 pm

Hi all,

This little table might be of interest. (Apologies for the crappy formatting)

PERIOD = Blocks of 15 days
APPs = Applications that we have been notified of through this forum thus far.
APPROVED = Percentage of these applications that posters have informed us have been approved (rounded to nearest full percent)

PERIOD APPS (APPROVED)
Aug 27-Sept 10 = 48 (90%)
Sept 11-25 = 45 (96%)
Sept 26-Oct 10 = 84 (46%)
Oct 11-25 = 101 (17%)
Oct 26-Nov 9 = 13 (0%)
Nov 10-24 = 10 (0%)

I admit this is biased towards capturing where the rush suddenly stopped, but all the same, it gives an idea of the scale. I can keep this placeholder updated as these values change.

EDIT: I'm maintaining an up-to-date table, but so that I only have to do it in one place, please go here for the latest figures.

It seems that they really haven't looked at applications after 28th Oct with possibly few exceptions.. (e.g pqek)

Looks like they want to sort out most (possibly all) before touching applications with new rules.

It will be interesting to see how many applications they received from end of Sep to 26th Oct when Home Office releases figures.

It would. You could make an FOI request for the UKBA's most up-to-date monthly stats (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/) but they normally only release these figures on a 2-3 month time lag, so by that time it will hopefully be purely academic for most applicants.

Fees?

Post by jotter » Mon Nov 25, 2013 5:25 pm

There have been a few posters asking: "When are my fees going to be deducted?" so here is another table, with a nod to dr_me, who has gone into much more detail in earlier posts than I have here.

The percentage value represents the number of people who've informed us they've had their fees deducted as a proportion of the total number of people who've informed us of their applications. The percent includes people who've since also had their case decided.

Note that the date or date range refers to when we believe that the HO received the application, not the date it was sent.

Week ending Oct 5th = 100%
Week ending Oct 12th = 100%
Week ending Oct 19th = 96%
Oct 21st = 90%
Oct 22nd = 89%
Oct 23rd = 93%
Oct 24th = 89%
Oct 25th = 76%
Oct 26th = 50%
Week ending Oct 26th = 85%
Oct 28th = 0%
Oct 29th = 25%
Oct 30th-Nov 2nd = 0%
Week ending Nov 2nd = 7%

Starting to get a bit worried no fees have been deducted. The passport I applied with expires on 9/12/13. It has my proof that I'm free from immigration with the Right of Abode. Not sure what happens if it expires before they try to take the fees as an ROA expires with the passport!

Don't worry it should be fine. At least your passport is still valid. I sent my Passport which expired May 2012, emailed UKBA who informed me to send proof I have been living here since that date to present so sent tax credit forms and bank statements etc to show the proof and my payment has gone. So Keep Calm and be happy :D
