ILR on the basis of 10 years stay in 1960s

Hello there,

I stayed in uk from 1962 to 1972, on the basis of studied from cambridge and then worked legally.Then I left for Pakistan. now if I have come back to uk,
am I eligible for ILR??
I have read on the UKBA website that if you stay 10 year legally and go out of uk, then you can apply of ILR whenever you come back in life.
my age is now 80.
I would be gratefull for your advice and help on this

Technically:

Once an applicant has built up a period of 10 years continuous lawful residence, there is no
limit on the length of time afterwards when they can apply. This means they could leave the
UK, re-enter and apply for settlement based on a 10 year period of continuous lawful
residence they built up in the past.

However, do you have documentary evidence?

well I have few passports but not all of them, what else would I need?

Proof that you had been in the UK legally for the 10 year period with no absences greater than 180 at any one time or 540 days in total. The University may have your attendance records and visa copies? And perhaps your past employer(s) if they are still going? Also consider a SAR from the Home Office to see what they have on their records.
