Proceedure to change name before Natuarlisation

Post by nmm » Sun Oct 06, 2013 11:40 pm

Hi,

I posted this query few days back but got no response. I want to change my children surname before application. Can anyone clearly explain the procedure and also any URL reference please. If anyone share who has first hand experience of changing name, that would be a great help.

Admin, please don't move to continue in same thread as nobody reply a question with a different subject.

Thanks

Hi, i used thelegaldeedpollservice.org.uk to change my surname. If you google deed poll you will find a lot of companies that deal with that. I believe that parents can use deed poll to change their under 16 children's surname. You just fill out a form and pay online. They sent me certificates which i had to sign with a witness and straight away they were ready for use. I managed to change my driving licence and one certificate has gone to UKBA but i haven't heard from them yet.

Thanks for reply.

Do I need to first change their name on home country passport (i.e Pakistan in my case) OR I can do this later on? Do they accept different name on passport? Only deedpoll is enough for UKBA?
