Out of Ireland in between for sometime

My husband has 5 years reckonable residency according to the naturalisation residency calculator.

1 year out of the last 6 years, he had to go out of Ireland, reason being his job contract period got over and hence the green card permit.

Because my husband was not out of Ireland for travel reasons and was working in a different country when he was outside Ireland, we are wondering if ours is a unique situation and would like to know if anyone has got their approval being in a similar situation.

Also please share any tips / points to be done differently in our case.
